What makes a deer dance? Cookies, cakes and brownies, of course!

Beautiful, preservative-free and downright delicious, Dancing Deer’s baked goods are the real deal. A pioneer in the mail order baked goods business, Boston’s Dancing Deer has been selling expertly made, adorably packaged cakes, cookies, brownies and mixes to happy snackers since 1994.

Named for an antique shop run by the grandmother of one of its founders, Dancing Deer began life in a former pizza parlor in downtown Boston. Seeking to provide high quality, all-natural baked goods for the growing gourmet coffee business, they sold their sweets to local cafes and restaurants, but were convinced by neighborhood regulars to open a retail shop.
Word of Dancing Deer deliciousness spread across the country when a Hollywood food writer sampled their wares when stopping at the shop to ask directions. Soon after this serendipitous meeting, Dancing Deer was touted on national TV for making the "best cake in America". In less than 24 hours, they got a toll free number and launched their mail order business.

It would have been easy for Dancing Deer to rest on its laurels, but they have kept things interesting with unexpected flavor combinations (sugar cane-lime and chocolate tangerine cookies!) while maintaining their commitment to using quality ingredients and no preservatives. Dancing Deer is employee-owned and also shares a portion of its profits with the local community through its Sweet Home Project, which provides programs to help homeless families get back on their feet.
